Edit: There has been some concern over the well being of Amberlamps. AmberLamps is living safely under the loving care of Mr. Darby’s two adorable children. He is now known by the pseudonym ‘Frog the Fish’ He patrols his 25 gallon tank with his partner Speedy the snail. Pet store officials have inspected Amberlamps and predict a long and full life for him, up to 10 years.

Music Envy: Motion City Soundtrack covers Pavement

I remember a few things about my middle school experience. One of them was jamming out to Pavement’s ‘Cut Your Hair’ The video features a small clip of why MCS chose to cover Pavement. The lead singer, Justin Pierre, lists Pavement as one of the bands he grew up with and could listen to forever. I think I missed the train on Pavement, but I have a good feeling Darby is well versed. I’m going to have to give him a call.

Music Envy: The Pretenders - Night In my Veins

I think at this point we all know that I love pop music to no end. That being said, I too often forget about The Pretenders. Chrissie Hynde and the boys really bring the thunder to this morning show. I particularly enjoy the solo section @ 2:20. It’s always great to see a string quartet lose their minds.  After doing a few rounds of youtube surfing, I also really enjoyed this performance of ‘In the Middle of the Road.’
